SO TO GIVE A LITTLE BACKGROUND, UH, OF THIS PROJECT CITY STAFF WAS MADE AWARE OF THIS PROJECT IN NOVEMBER OF 2020, UH, STOCK PUBLISHED A PUBLIC INFORMATION VIDEO IN DECEMBER OF 2020, AND THEN CITY STAFF IN OUR INITIAL COMMENTS ON THE PROJECT, UH, IN JANUARY OF 2021 TO TECHSTOP, UM, THEN CITY STAFF PRESENTED THIS, UH, PROJECT TO COUNCIL FOUR TIMES IN 2021. AND, UH, CITY STAFF ALSO HELD TWO PUBLIC MEETINGS IN 2021 FOR THIS PROJECT. AND, UH, WE RECENTLY ATTENDED THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH TXDOT IN DECEMBER 16TH, 2021. AND, UM, HERE'S SOME BASIC INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT. UH, THE CONTRACT WAS AWARDED TO SCR CIVIL CONSTRUCTION IN SEPTEMBER OF 2021. THE PROJECTED, UH, PROJECTS, UH, START IS IN JANUARY OF 2022. UH, THE CONSTRUCTION COST IS 2.4 MILLION AND THE CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE IS SEVEN MONTHS FROM JANUARY TO JULY OF 2022. UH, AND LIKE I SAID, THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION [00:10:01] MEETING WAS HELD IN DECEMBER. SO, UH, WITH THESE NEXT STEPS, UH, TEXTILE WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION, UH, THE WEEK, WELL THIS WEEK, UH, IN STAFFORD AND THEN EXTENDS SOUTH EVENTUALLY, UH, REACHING MISSOURI CITY AROUND MARCH. UM, STR CONSTRUCTION IS REQUESTING TO WORK OUTSIDE OF THE PARAMETERS OF THE CITY'S EXISTING NOISE ORDINANCE, UH, WHICH REQUIRES HIM TO WORK BETWEEN 7:00 AM AND 10:00 PM. UH, SO THIS VARIANCE WOULD ALLOW THEM TO WORK, UH, AT NIGHTTIME FROM 8:00 PM TO 6:00 AM. AND THE PURPOSE OF THIS IS TO AVOID TRAFFIC DURING THE DAY AND HELP THEM COMPLETE THE PROJECT QUICKER AND NOT HAVE AS BIG OF AN IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY. AND, UM, THAT'S THE END OF MY PRESENTATION. AND YOU'LL KNOW IF YOU DRIVE THROUGH THERE, I'LL ECHO THOSE SENTIMENTS FROM MY COLLEAGUE. I WOULD LIKE FOR A PLAN OF ACTION TO BE CONVEYED WITH THE PLANT PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, AS WELL AS OUR CITY MANAGER ON HOW WE WILL MAINTAIN THOSE MEDIUMS AND CONTINUE TO BEAUTIFY OUR CITY. THEN YOU GET INTO COMMERCIAL IN THREE, A THREE B AND FOUR, AND THAT'S WHAT THE TOURISTS COULD HELP OFFSET THOSE COSTS. AND I TALKED TO ALBREY EARLIER AND, AND TIM NOW, AND IT'S BEEN EXTENDED, THE TOURIST ONE HAS BEEN EXTENDED AT 2029. I JUST WANT TO, UH, I WISH EVERYBODY HAD AN AMAZING CHRISTMAS AND OF COURSE, A HAPPY NEW YEAR, UH, SPENT NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH MY COLLEAGUES, UH, FORT BEND COUNTY COMMISSIONER, UH, GRADY PRESTAGE AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE, RON REYNOLDS, AS WE HOSTED A COVID-19 TESTING POP-UP I WANT TO THANK THE MEN AND WOMEN OF MISSOURI CITY PD, UH, FOR BEING JOHNNY ON THE SPOT TO HELP ADDRESS SOME OF OUR TRAFFIC FLOW CONGESTION ISSUES. UH, AND, UM, YOU KNOW, ALSO THE PEOPLE OF FORT BEND ISD, UH, POLICE DEPARTMENT AS WELL. UH, IT WAS AN AMAZING TURNOUT. UM, AND I, YOU KNOW, I HATE TO SAY AMAZING BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH, YOU KNOW, THE NERVOUSNESS OF COVID, BUT THE PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO, UH, GET TESTED, UH, OVER 2000 TESTS, UH, IN THAT, UH, WE ONLY PLAN THAT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS, UH, BUT THERE'S A TRUE NEED OUT THERE. AND, UM, YOU KNOW, THOSE INDIVIDUALS AWAITING THEIR RESULTS. AND SO I'M PRAYERFUL THAT, UH, THEY GET THE RESOLVE THAT THEY NEED AS THEY DEAL WITH THIS CHALLENGING AND UNPRECEDENTED TIME. UH, I ONLY ADD ONE MORE THING. I JUST WANT TO GIVE A, UH, HAPPY FOUNDER'S DAY. UH, SHOUT OUT BEFORE WE MEET AGAIN TO THE MEN OF KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY INCORPORATED THE LADIES OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY INCORPORATED THE WOMAN OF AKA, UH, ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY INCORPORATED IN LADIES OF ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INCORPORATED, ALL OF THEM WILL BE CELEBRATING THEIR FOUNDER'S DAY BY THE TIME WE MEET AGAIN. SO THAT CONCLUDES MY, MY CON. OKAY, THANK YOU. I JUST HAVE A FEW ITEMS. UM, FIRST OF ALL, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE. I WANT TO THANK ALL THE STAFF WHO ARE HERE FOR THIS MEETING, ESPECIALLY THE DIRECTOR GROUP. UM, ALSO DURING THIS WINTER FREEZE, I MEAN, NOT WINTER FREEZE, THE WINTER HOLIDAY, WE HAD SOME WEATHER CONCERNS. WE HAD SOME, UM, PEOPLE BEING SICK WITH COVID AND AMI CRON. THERE'S A LOT OF ENTITIES OUT THERE THAT TRY TO HELP. UM, AND A LOT OF US, A LOT OF PEOPLE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS AND, AND HAD THIS. UM, BUT PLEASE CONTINUE TO WEAR YOUR MASK. IF YOU'RE IN PUBLIC, WE'RE STILL HAVE THAT ORDER GOING ON, CORRECT. EACH CHOICE THAT IT IS A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE. CORRECT. BUT HE IS ACTUALLY NO LONGER AUTHORIZED TO ENFORCE THE MASK ORDER. HOWEVER, WE DO STILL HAVE A DISASTER DECLARATION. THAT'S WHAT I WAS TYPING AWAY. OKAY. UM, AND THEN ONE OF, UH, I DON'T THINK WE GIVE, OFTEN WE GIVE KUDOS. I KNOW OUR PARKS DEPARTMENT, UM, HOW THE, UH, WINTER BREAK CAMP THAT WAS HERE. SO THEY CONTINUE TO DO THAT PROGRAM, UH, THROUGHOUT THIS WEEK, UM, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOLIDAY WEEK. SO LET'S JUST GIVE KUDOS TO THAT TEAM, ESPECIALLY, UH, THE PARKS DEPARTMENT THAT HAS BEEN ON ACTIVE IN WHAT GROUPS OF KIDS WHO ARE HERE. THEN I WANT TO THANK ALL MY COLLEAGUES AND I'VE SAW SOME OF THE OTHER STAFF, UM, FOR DOING THE HOLIDAY VIDEO MESSAGE OUT THERE TO COMMUNITY. UM, SO EGOS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT THIS YEAR. UM, SO HER OUT, SO, WHICH WAS WONDERFUL, UM, AND GOT TO SEE SOME OF THE DIRECTOR, GROUP STAFF STANDING ALL TOGETHER. AND IT SAID SENSE, A REAL WARM MESSAGE TO THE COMMUNITY OUT THERE THAT JUST SHOWS THAT, UH, WE'RE ALL WORKING TOGETHER. AND THE REASON WHY WE'RE ACTUALLY HERE IS FOR THE, UH, FOR THE CITIZENS OF OUR CITY. SO KUDOS TO COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT FOR DOING THAT. AND AGAIN, THANK YOU TO IT DEPARTMENT, CEDRIC JOBY AND THE ENTIRE TEAM FOR THIS SETUP.
