YOU ALL SHOULD HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO, UH, TAKE A LOOK AT THAT ITEM THOSE MINUTES.

AND THEY'LL GIVE YOU A SECOND TO PULL THOSE UP AND I'LL AT THIS POINT IN TIME, ENTERTAIN A MOTION WITH REGARD TO THE SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2020 PARKS BOARD MEETING MINUTES, OR YOU SHOULD HAVE THOSE OLD GRAS EMAILED OUT TO YOU.

DID WE HAVE ANYBODY THAT SIGNED UP TO BE HERE FROM THE PUBLIC? NO, SIR.

WE DON'T HAVE ANY PUBLIC COMMENTS.

OKAY.

IS THERE ANYONE ONLINE THAT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A COMMENT WITH REGARDS TO PUBLIC COMMENT? NO.

OKAY.

ALL RIGHT.

WELL, WE'LL MOVE ON.

[4. HONOR THE RETIREMENT OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR RANDY TROXELL]

AND, UH, THIS NEXT ITEM I WANT TO SKIP, BUT I GUESS I CAN'T SAY IT'S ON THE AGENDA.

UM, IT IS, IS MY HONOR AND PRIVILEGE GRADES.

IF YOU'RE NOT SPEAKING, THERE YOU GO.

THANK YOU.

UM, CAN I

[00:05:05]

GET YOUR MIC IF YOU'RE NOT SPEAKING, PLEASE.

THANK YOU.

SO, UM, UH, THIS IS A LITTLE BIT TOUGHER ONE RIGHT HERE FOR NOT ONLY ME, BUT I'M SURE EVERYONE IS WELL, UH, I, UH, WANT TO AT LEAST GIVE EVERYONE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK ON THIS ITEM.

THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN A WHILE DEFINITELY WILL KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

UM, MR. TROXEL, RANDY TROXELL, UH, HAS DONE A PHENOMENAL JOB, UH, HERE IN MISSOURI CITY.

AND, UM, HE HAS, HE HAS DEFINITELY BEEN A YEOMAN'S JOB AND HAS PUT AS TIME AND, AND IS HE IS GOING TO RETIRE.

UM, I DON'T LIKE SEEING THEM GO.

I REALLY, DON'T A WONDERFUL MAN.

AND, UM, UH, WE WANT TO JUST KIND OF HONOR YOU RON, RANDY, FOR ALL THE WORK AND WHAT HAVE YOU.

AND I KNOW INDIVIDUALLY, THERE ARE SOME MEMBERS OF THE PARKS BOARD, UH, WHO HAVE WORKED WITH YOU AND THEN GAIN KNOWLEDGE FROM YOU AND I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK, SO I'M NOT GOING TO HELP YOU MAKE HIM A MEMBER OF THE BOARD.

THAT MEANS BIG FIRST AND THEIR THOUGHTS TO YOU.

UH, AND THEN WE'LL GO TO, UH, UH, CITY STAFF AND THE PARKS BOARD MEMBERS.

AND I'LL JUST TAKE YOU OFF QUICK.

DON, WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO FOR, UH, MY, YEAH, I WOULD BE VERY HONORED TO SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT RANDY.

RANDY IS THE CITY'S MEMORY.

RANDY KNOWS WHERE EVERYTHING IS AND ALL THE PARTS HE'S PARTICIPATED IN ALL OF THE ACTIONS TAKING CARE OF THE PARKS.

HE'S JUST A PHENOMENAL MIND ABOUT WHEN I FIRST GOT HERE, HE TOOK US AROUND THE ARTS AND TOLD US THE HISTORY OF ALL OF THEM, MANY, THOSE WHO WORKED ON THEM.

UH, I'M JUST, UH, I'M SAD TO SEE HIM GO DESERVES HIS RETIREMENT.

THANK YOU.

UH, THOMAS SANE, I'M GONNA TRY TO STAY SAY SOMETHING ABOUT CRYING.

RANDY HAS JUST BEEN TREMENDOUS, JUST, JUST TREMENDOUS.

UH, RANDY, YOUR PICTURE'S NOT SHOWING.

I WANTED TO SEE YOUR FACE.

I'M NOT GONNA MISS YOU.

WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU FOR MENDELEY.

AND YOU KNOW, RETIREMENT DOES MEAN RETIREMENT.

WE DON'T WANT TO RIDE AROUND TOWN AND SEE YOU STILL TRYING TO DO THE SAME THINGS THAT WHEN YOU SEE SOMETHING THAT'S GONE ON IN THE CITY AND YOU FEEL IT, SO YOU HAVE TO FIX IT, BUT WE'RE GONNA REALLY MISS YOU.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I'M ALWAYS SHARE ISSUE FOUR IS GIVEN ME A PART OF THE FREEDOM TREE.

THAT MEANT A WHOLE LOT TO ME, THAT YOU THOUGHT ENOUGH TO SAVE A PIECE FOR ME.

AND, UH, RETIREMENT IS, IS, IS IT'S GOOD, BUT YOU HAVE TO FIND SOME KIND OF WAY TO, TO STICK AROUND SOME KIND OF WAY.

SO WE CAN JUST SEE YOU SOME TIME.

AND I THINK AS SOON AS THE PANDEMIC IS OVER, I THINK THIS IS THE FIRST POINT THAT WE NEED TO HAVE GROUP.

VERY GOOD.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

MA'AM UH, MR. MAX, NOT HERE AND, UH, MS. ROSS.

I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE BOARD LONG, BUT I WANT TO AT LEAST MAKE SURE I PROVIDED EVERY BOARD MEMBER AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK.

WELL, I HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE BOARD VERY LONG, BUT I HAVE, WHEN I RETIRED, I HAVEN'T BEEN A MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE, A LONG HAUL.

AND SO I UNDERSTAND HOW IT IS SOMETIMES TO HAVE TO WORK THE WAY YOU WORK, BUT WHEN YOU COME TO LOVE IT, HOW MUCH BETTER JOB YOU DO? SO JUST LISTENING TO WHAT OTHER CARS, HELLO.

THE OTHER PORT PARKS BOARD MEMBERS ARE SAYING, THEN I'M JUST, I FEEL LIKE, I FEEL LIKE IT'S A, UM, IT'S GREAT TO HAVE WORKED WITH YOU FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

LIKE AT LEAST KNOWING OF THE WORK THAT YOU HAVE DONE.

IT'S GOOD TO KNOW ANOTHER MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE WHO ENJOYS THEIR WORK AND, AND, AND, AND HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB.

SO, UM, YOU DESERVE YOUR RETIREMENT.

DON'T DO LIKE ME.

DON'T GET MORE BUSY DOING RETIREMENT.

THEN I WAS AT WORK.

UH, ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT.

YOU'VE EARNED IT.

[00:10:02]

UH, MS. SUSAN, UH, MR. MARQUEZ, RANDY.

UM, THIS IS FINE.

I, I WISH SHE, I DON'T LET ME GET MY, MY VIDEO ON YOU CAN SEE ME.

WELL, WE'LL RANDY.

WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU A JOB WELL DONE, AND WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT.

AND WE JUST HOPE WE MAKE YOU PROUD AND CARRY ON THE LEGACY THAT YOU'VE CREATED WITHIN THE PARKS, PARKS BOARD.

SO WISH YOU THE BEST AND, UH, ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT.

THANK YOU, VICTORIA.

UH, OKAY, SORRY.

UM, IT'S SOMETIMES A THANKLESS JOB.

PEOPLE REALIZE HOW MUCH EFFORT, HOW MUCH FREE TIME AND HOW MUCH, UM, YOU KNOW, COORDINATION AND SHE'S USING VERIZON.

I'M SORRY.

YEAH.

THANK YOU.

MA'AM DID YOU GUYS HEAR ME PARTIALLY MR. SNYDER, BUT HE MAY HAVE CUT OUT HE'S OUT IN THE WOODS RIGHT NOW.

UH, GR OH, HELLO, BUDDY.

AS ME GOING ON, UM, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE AND ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT.

IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE WORKING WITH YOU.

THANK YOU, SIR.

MR. ADKIN.

HEY RANDY.

I ACTUALLY CALLED INTO THIS SO I CAN MAKE SURE THAT I COULD BE HEARD WHEN WE SAID THIS.

ACTUALLY PUT A, UH, MAN, I APPRECIATE IT FROM THE DAY THAT I GOT ON THE PARKS BOARD AND, UH, EVERYTHING YOU, YOU MADE A POINT TO GO OUT WITH ME TO THE PARKS AND TALK TO ME ABOUT THE HISTORY BASED ON THE DAWN MENTIONED EARLIER.

UM, THERE'S A LOT OF GREAT VISIONS THAT ARE, THAT HAVE BEEN OUT THERE AND ARE, ARE OUT THERE AND CONTINUE TO KIND OF BE OUT THERE THAT YOU SHARED WITH ME.

AND I GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL THE GUIDANCE THAT YOU'VE GIVEN ME AND THE IDEAS, UH, AND I HOPE THAT WE CAN, UH, TRY TO MAKE SOME OF THOSE THINGS COME THROUGH.

AND THEN I ALSO WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT, YOU KNOW, I, I OWE YOU EITHER A CRAWFISH BOIL OR A BRISKET, UH, WHEN IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE, I'LL BE LOOKING FOR THAT FOR MS. GARCIA, CLAUDIA.

HI, UM, I'M NEWER AS WELL.

SO I DIDN'T, I WASN'T LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE AS MUCH EXPERIENCE WORKING ALONGSIDE YOU, RANDY, BUT I CAN CERTAINLY TELL YOU REALLY ENJOY YOUR JOB.

AND I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A LOT OF, OF YOUR HEART INTO THIS, AND SO CONGRATULATIONS, AND WE'RE GONNA MISS YOU.

THANK YOU, MISS NINE, AGAIN, LIKE THE OTHER ONES YOU TOOK ME ON A TOUR IN THE VERY BEGINNING, WHICH WAS A GREAT ORIENTATION.

UM, MISSOURI CITY GREEN REALLY APPRECIATED ALL THE THINGS YOU DID WHEN WE WOULD HAVE OUR PARTS CLEAN CLEANUP.

WE'LL MISS YOU AT OUR MEETINGS WHEN YOU GAVE YOUR REPORTS FOR THE BEST AND, UH, ALL THE BIG EVENTS THAT WE HAVE, SNOW FEST AND 4TH OF JULY, UM, ALL THE HALLOWEEN, YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON WE SEE DRIVING IN YOUR LAST FIRST.

AND WE SEE LEAVING, UH, ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT AND GO ASTROS.

THANK YOU, MR. ROD, EXCUSE ME.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE AND WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

GOD BLESS YOU.

THANK YOU OFF.

AND I GUESS FROM THE PARK BOARD STANDPOINT, AGAIN, I THINK AS A WHOLE, WE ALL APPRECIATE ALL THE KNOWLEDGE YOU'VE SHARED WITH US, UH, THE PASSION AND ALL THE WORK THAT YOU'VE DONE FOR ME PER SWAY.

UH, YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN AT MISSOURI STEADY FOR, FOR OVER 30 YEARS

[00:15:01]

AND, UH, I'VE, I'VE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH YOU PRIOR TO BEING ON THE PARKS BOARD WHILE BEING ON THE PARKS BOARD.

AND I CONTINUE TO HAVE, UH, WE'LL CONTINUE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU, UH, WELL, AFTER YOU'VE RETIRED, SO I WILL STILL CALL YOU, I'M GOING TO CHECK ON IT.

LIKE I DO ALL YOUR OTHER RETIRED FOLKS, BECAUSE I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER GET TO RETIRE, BUT I AT LEAST LIKE HEARING HOW RETIREMENT LIFE, GOD BLESS YOU.

THANK YOU AGAIN FROM ALL THE PARKS BOARD AND THE CITIZENS OF MISSOURI CITY, FOR ALL THE LOVE EFFORT THAT YOU'VE PUT IN TO MAKING OUR PARTS SYSTEM ONE OF THE BEST IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

WELL, THANK YOU.

UM, OKAY.

CAN YOU HEAR ME? YES, SIR.

OKAY.

UM, YEAH, I WAS, I WAS AT WASHINGTON CON AND ALL THAT TIME.

IT WAS, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO NOT KEEP UP WITH WHAT TIME IT IS TODAY, BUT, UM, ANYWAY, UM, I JUST WANTED TO, I WISH WE COULD BE THERE AND I COULD SEE EVERYBODY AND, AND, UH, UH, STATION THINGS.

I'LL TRY.

UH, IT'S, IT'S BEEN WONDERFUL.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE NICE COMMENTS.

UH, IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE WORKING WITH ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE PARKS BOARD.

I'VE BEEN THROUGH A LOT OF MEMBERS ON THE PARKS BOARD OVER THE LAST 29 YEARS.

UM, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN GREAT.

IT TAKES A LITTLE WHILE TO PICK UP SPEED AND, AND, UH, GRAB A HOLD OF EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO AND EVERYTHING THAT WE HAVE PLANNED TO DO FOR IN THE FUTURE.

BUT THE PARKS BOARD HAS ALWAYS BEEN SUPPORTIVE OF STAFF AND THEY THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN, UH, THAT, THAT, THAT, THAT GROUP, THAT, THAT TAKES THIS VISION AND STUFF TO THE CITY COUNCIL AND, AND, UH, TO PRESS FOUR FOR WHAT WE'RE REALLY LOOKING TO DO IN OUR PARK SYSTEM.

SO IT'S BEEN GREAT.

IT'S, YOU KNOW, I'LL NEVER LOSE THE PASSION FOR THIS.

AND, UH, I HOPE MAYBE SOME OF IT HAS RUBBED OFF ON, ON SOMEBODY YOU FOLKS, UM, BUT, UH, IT'S, IT'S TIME TO GO HOME AND, UH, DO A FEW DO OTHER THINGS.

AND, UM, I'M AROUND, UM, IT'S, IT'S HARD TO DRIVE AROUND ANYWHERE IN TOWN WITHOUT STEEL SEEING, UH, THINGS THAT WE DO AND SEEING PEOPLE ENJOYING THE PARKS AND EVERYTHING.

SO THAT, THAT WILL NEVER STOP.

I DON'T THINK I CAN, I DON'T THINK I'LL BE ABLE TO DO THAT, BUT I DO APPRECIATE IT.

THANKS FOR ALL THE, THE, UH, NOTCH THINGS THAT IT'S, I'M JUST OVERWHELMED OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS OF, UH, ALL OF THIS.

SO, UM, WE HAVE MEETING AGAIN, EVERYBODY GETS IT ONE PLACE, YOU KNOW, I'LL, I'LL BE SURE AND COME BY AND, UH, SHAKE HER BY HIS HAND.

SO THANK YOU SO MUCH, NOT A PROBLEM.

AND WE WILL ASK YOU TO COME THERE.

LET'S GIVE HIM A HAND.

WE WILL, WHEN WE HAVE OUR FIRST MEETING, WE WILL ASK YOU TO COME BACK THE WEEKEND, SEE YOU IN PERSON THEN, AND SHE'LL GIVE YOU A GHETTO TOKEN OF OUR APPRECIATION FOR THE WORK THAT YOU'VE DONE.

THANK YOU, SIR.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT.

GO BACK AND WASH THE CAR BEFORE HE GETS TOO DARK.

NOW I'M DONE.

I'VE GOT IT IN THE GARAGE, SO IT'S JUST FINISHED.

ALL RIGHT, THANKS.

I WANT ANOTHER CAR.

I'VE GOT TWO MORE TO DO TOMORROW AND ALL RIGHT.

UH, WE'LL MOVE ON OVER WHERE, UH, ITEM NUMBER FIVE ELECTION

[5. ELECTION OF OFFICERS: CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR POSITIONS]

OF OFFICER.

UM, WE HAVE, UH, TWO POSITIONS THAT WE HAVE, UH, UH, WE HAVE THE CHAIR AND THE VICE CHAIR POSITIONS, UH, OF THIS YEAR.

AND SO, UH, WHAT WE'LL DO IS, UH, WE'LL ENTERTAIN A MOTION FOR, UM, UH, WE'LL DO A CHAIR FIRST AND WE'LL TAKE NOMINATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF CHAIR.

I'LL OPEN UP THE FLOOR FOR NOMINATIONS, FOR THE POSITION OF CHAIR OF THE PARKS BOARDS.

WE HAVE ANY NOMINATION I'D LIKE TO NOMINATE LAWRENCE TURNER TO CONTINUE AS OUR CHAIRPERSON.

SECOND TO FIFTH AND SIXTH AND SEVEN.

DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS? WELL, WITH THAT BEING SAID, UH, WE HAVE ONE NOMINATION OR LAYER STANDARDS CHAIR FOR THE PARK BOARD AND A SECOND, ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, SAY AYE, ANY, ANY A BONE.

WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I DO APPRECIATE THE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE.

UH, HOPE I'M DOING, UM, UH,

[00:20:01]

THE POSITION JUSTICE.

AND BY ALL MEANS, I'VE ALWAYS TRIED TO LEAVE MYSELF OPEN FOR ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO TO HELP MAKE IT BETTER AND TO MAKE IT MORE INCLUSIVE FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.

SO THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR THAT VOTE OF CONFIDENCE.

UH, THE NEXT POSITION WE HAVE IS FOR VICE CHAIR POSITION, I'LL ENTERTAIN, UH, NOMINATIONS FOR THE VICE CHAIR POSITION, MADE A NOMINATION FOR THE VICE CHAIR POSITION, MAKE A MOTION TO, UH, HAVE DON TAKEOVER VICE CHAIR THOUGH.

I HAVEN'T TALKED TO THEM.

SO I'M PUTTING YOU ON THE SPOT.

OKAY.

YOU GOT NOMINATION FOR DON.

DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATION? YEAH, THIS IS BRIAN.

I'LL NOMINATE A BUDDY.

AND I GOT BUDDY, DO I HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS, MR. CHAIR? YES.

MA'AM JUST FOR THE SAKE OF A OF PROCEDURE.

I'D LIKE TO SECOND.

BOTH OF THEM.

YOU'LL HAVE A SECOND.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

MA'AM DO I HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS CURRENTLY? I HAVE A, UH, DON AND BUDDY FOR VICE CHAIR.

UH, AND THAT, THAT HAS BEEN SECOND.

DO I HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS? I NOMINATE VICTORIA.

I NOMINATE THOMAS.

I'M GOING TO HAVE A DECLINE.

THANK YOU, VICTORIA.

OKAY.

OKAY.

MR. CHAIRMAN? YES, SIR.

OKAY.

SO I'LL CLOSE IT.

NOW, IF THERE'S NO OTHER NOMINATIONS, I WILL CLOSE THE NOMINATION.

IS THERE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS BEFORE I'LL CLOSE? SO RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A NOMINATION IN A SECOND BY MS. ROCKPORT, BUDDY.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, SAY AYE.

AYE.

HI, AMY.

WANT TO POSE YOUR VICE CHAIR? CONGRATULATIONS, SIR.

THANK YOU MUCH.

THANK YOU ALL.

ALRIGHT, MOVE ON OVER TO

[6. DISSCUSS POSSIBLE PROJECTS IN MISSOURI CITY THROUGH THE FIRST COLONY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT]

THE, UH, THE, THE NEXT ITEM ITEM NUMBER SIX, DISCUSS POSSIBLE PROJECTS IN MISSOURI CITY TO THE FIRST COLONY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.

I'M GOING TO TURN THAT OVER TO MR. ATKINS.

ALL RIGHT.

THANKS LARRY.

IT'S.

UM, YEAH, SO, UH, I ALSO GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON THE FIRST COLONY HOA BOARD.

AND, UM, UH, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON, AND RIGHT NOW WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF, UH, PUTTING OUT OUR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PLAN, WHICH IS A FIVE YEAR PLAN TO, TO LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES WHERE WE COULD GO IN.

AND, UH, IN PAST YEARS WE'VE DONE THINGS LIKE POOLS AND WE'VE DONE THINGS, UM, UH, AROUND SOME OF THE OTHER FACILITIES THAT WE HAVE.

AND, UM, QUITE FRANKLY, WE'VE DONE A LOT OF THOSE THINGS AND WE DON'T HAVE A LOT MORE TO KIND OF GO ON AND DO.

AND SO, UM, ONE THING THAT THE BOARD KIND OF DESIRED AND, AND LEADERSHIP OVER AT A FIRST COUNTY KIND OF DESIRED, WAS TO TRY TO FIND SOME PROJECT IDEAS WHERE WE COULD COORDINATE WITH MISSOURI CITY SINCE, UH, IN THE PAST, THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF, UH, ACTIVITY BETWEEN FIRST COLONY AND SUGAR LAND.

THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ALSO DO THE SAME THING ON THE MISSOURI CITY SIDE.

UM, AND SO THERE'S SOME IDEAS THAT ARE FLOATING AROUND.

I KNOW JASON AND I HAVE, I'VE KIND OF GONE OVER ONE.

UM, BUT, UH, YOU KNOW, IF YOU LOOK AT THE THINGS THAT CROW VALLEY HAS DONE, UM, WITH THE MCNAUGHTON PARK, UH, IT'S A HUGE, A HUGE BENEFIT TO THE CITY, UH, AND THAT WAS A PARTNERSHIP.

AND SO, UH, I WANTED TO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BRING IT TO THE PARKS BOARD TO KIND OF ASK EVERYBODY HERE, IF THERE WERE OPPORTUNITIES YOU GUYS SAW, YOU KNOW, INSIDE OF THE FIRST COLONY SPACE OF MISSOURI CITY, WHICH IS A KIND OF UP THERE ALONG THE DULLES AND AUSTIN PARKWAY KIND OF AREA OF HIGHWAY SIX AND THEN SOUTH FROM THERE, UH, IN DISTRICT C.

UM, AND SO I BRING IT TO YOU, UH, ONE IDEA JUST TO KIND OF GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF, OF, UH, THINGS THAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT IS TO UPDATE THE FIRST COLONY TRAILHEAD, UM, WITH, UH, UH, KIND OF A FITNESS

[00:25:01]

PARK THAT WOULD BE FOR ALL AGES, NOT JUST FOR YOUNG KIDS, UM, AND THEN ALSO SOME TRAIL EXTENSIONS TO TRY TO, TO CONNECT TO THE TRAILS.

AND THE OTHER REALLY NEAT OPPORTUNITY THAT WE HAVE IS THAT WE COULD CONNECT MISSOURI CITY TRAILS, INCLUDING OYSTER CREEK BACK INTO THE SUGAR LAND TRAILS THROUGH, UH, THE AREA OVER HERE BY THE FIRST COUNTY HOA, UH, UM, MAIN OFFICE.

SO THOSE ARE THE KINDS OF IDEAS.

AND SINCE IT'S OPEN, UH, YOU KNOW, WE CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE TO GO OVER THEM ALL NOW, BUT I WANTED TO GIVE EVERYBODY AN OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW THAT THIS IS GOING ON.

UH, IT'S A NEAT TIME.

UH, AND I'D LOVE TO, WE'LL TRY TO COME UP WITH A WHOLE BUNCH OF IDEAS THAT I CAN, I CAN TAKE WITH ME TO THE NEXT BOARD MEETING, UM, TO KIND OF PASS TO EVERYBODY.

UH, I TALKED TO COUNCILMAN MURALISTS ABOUT THIS AS WELL, AND HE SEEMS REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT, CAUSE IT'S, AGAIN, ONE OF THE FIRST TIME THAT FIRST COUNTY HAS REALLY REACHED OUT SOME MISSOURI CITY TO TRY TO, TO COME UP WITH SOME IDEAS.

SO ANY IDEA THAT YOU GUYS HAVE OR ANY FAULTS YOU GUYS HAVE, EITHER WE CAN DISCUSS IT HERE NOW, OR YOU CAN START KIND OF EMAILING ME THOSE IDEAS, OR WE CAN GET TOGETHER AND HAVE A CHAT ABOUT THEM.

UH, BUT I WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE SO THAT WE KNEW BECAUSE OFTEN WHAT HAPPENS IS WE REACH OUT WITH AN IDEA, BUT IT'S IN A CYCLE WHERE THERE'S NOT A BUDGET BEING OPEN FOR US TO GO TALK AND TRY TO SOCIALIZE IDEAS LIKE THIS.

SO I WANTED TO GIVE EVERYBODY AN OPPORTUNITY TO, TO KIND OF PUT THEIR 2 CENTS IN, AS FAR AS ANY PROJECTS WE COULD DO THE JOINT PARTNERSHIP.

AND JASON, IF YOU WANTED TO ADD ANYTHING OTHER, I'M SORRY.

I HAD A GOOD TIME.

OH, I WAS JUST GOING TO ASK WHEN YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THE FITNESS PART, IS THAT OVER THERE BY RIVERSTONE ACROSS FROM KOHL'S? IS THAT THE YEAR? YEAH, IT'S, IT'S THE AREA RIGHT THERE BY THE WOODHOUSE SPA.

UM, AND ANTHONY AND I TALKED ABOUT A WHILE BACK AND I THINK JASON SAID MAYBE PARKS IS LOOKING INTO THAT.

I THINK THAT WOULD BE THE ONE I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT AREA.

YEAH.

JUST SO YOU GUYS KNOW, WE, WE, WHEN WE WENT THROUGH THE AREA AND LOOKED AT SOME OF THE PARKS AND PROPERTIES OF DIFFERENT THINGS, UM, I WAS ONE OF THE AREAS THAT WE LOOKED AT THAT, THAT, UM, TAKING THE FIRST COLONY TRAILHEAD AND I MEAN, TH TH TH WE CALL IT A TRAILHEAD, BUT REALLY IT'S BIGGER THAN MANY OF OUR PARKS.

AND SO, UM, KIND OF RE REDOING THE THING AND CALLING IT A FITNESS PARK, HAVING IT BE FITNESS FOCUSED, UM, TIES RIGHT INTO THE FIRST COLONY TRAIL.

UM, ANOTHER THING THAT WE TALKED ABOUT IS, UH, TRAIL CONNECTIONS AND, UM, LOOKING AT WHERE WE HAVE TRAILS OR WHERE WE COULD MAKE TRAIL CONNECTIONS.

THAT'S A, UH, YOU KNOW, A BIG, A BIG PART OF, UH, WHAT, UH, UM, PEOPLE IN THE CITY HAVE SAID AS A PRIORITY IS, IS TRAILS.

UH, SO WE LOOKED AT SOME OF THOSE IDEAS AS WELL, UM, AND SENDING SOME OF THE OTHER, UM, PARKS THAT WE, UM, HAVE IN THE AREA IMPROVEMENTS THERE.

YEAH.

AND JASON, I'LL ADD THAT.

THAT'S ALSO A, WE DID A, UH, UH, BEFORE THE, THE CONFERENCE OF PLAN THAT WE'RE TRYING TO WORK ON NOW WHERE YOU, WE DID A, UH, A LITTLE BIT OF A SURVEY AS WELL.

AND THE RESIDENTS HERE IN FIRST COLONY FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY ABOUT TRAILS AND ACCESS.

AND SO IT'S REALLY A, THAT'S THE KIND OF PRODUCT WE'RE LOOKING FOR.

ONE THAT, THAT REALLY TIED IN TO THE GOALS THAT BOTH FIRST COUNTY AND MISSOURI CITY HAVE.

UM, AND, UH, AND HONESTLY, IT'S, IT'S AN ATTEMPT FOR US TO, TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS, UH, HOA OVER HERE IN FIRST COUNTY HAS A REALLY GOOD, UH, UH, RECOGNITION AND RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CITY.

THAT'S NOT JUST, UH, OUR SWEET FRIENDS UP NORTH, UH, SOMETHING THAT WE CAN ACTUALLY ALL KIND OF GET TOGETHER AND WORK TOGETHER ON.

SO, UH, BOTH IDEAS ARE GREAT.

AND HONESTLY, IF ANYBODY HAS IDEAS AFTER THIS MEETING, UH, DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT, CALL ME, SHOOT ME AN EMAIL.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE MY CONTACT INFORMATION, MY AARON'S HAS ALL OF IT.

SO YOU CAN GET AHOLD OF ME, UH, IF YOU NEED TO, OR JASON CAN AS WELL.

SO, UH, PLEASE SEND THOSE IDEAS.

I'D LOVE TO GET THEM IN, UH, OUR, OUR CIP PROJECT.

UH, WE, WE WERE JUST STARTED PUTTING TOGETHER A BOARD FOR THAT OR A COMMITTEE FOR THAT.

SO, UM, THIS IS THE VERY EARLY DAYS, SO WE'VE, YOU KNOW, WE'VE GOT SEVERAL MONTHS SO WE CAN STILL PUT IN IDEAS AND EVERYTHING.

SO I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS BODY IS MORE, UH, A VOICE WAS HEARD AS FAR AS INTERESTS AND IDEAS THAT THEY WOULD WANT US TO GO LOOK AT, TO FILL IN.

JR.

THANK YOU.

UM, NO, HE'S STILL GOT SOME TIME I THOUGHT DID ALREADY PASSED.

SO I PROMISED THAT I WOULD REACH OUT TO YOU, BUT I COULDN'T BECAUSE OF THE TIME, BUT, UH, I WILL DEFINITELY WILL.

I HAVE JUST TWO IDEAS.

THAT'S ONE ON THE, ON THE MURPHY THAT CONNECTS WITH, UH, WITH, UH, WITH OUR, UH, MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND, UH, ON THE CONTRARY, UH, THAT CONNECTS TO THE, TO THE, UM, WHAT DOES THAT, THAT TRAIL?

[00:30:01]

UM, SO THAT'S FINE.

I'LL, I'LL, I'LL TALK TO YOU.

OKAY, PERFECT.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, COMMENTS BEFORE WE MOVE ON TO THE NEXT NIGHT? ALL ALRIGHT.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, WE'LL MOVE ON OVER TO ITEM NUMBER SEVEN, DISCUSS

[7. DISCUSS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT’S PURSUIT OF FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT CO-OP GRANT]

PARKS AND REC DEPARTMENT FOR SORT OF FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT COOPERATES.

HEY, GOOD EVENING, PARKS BOARD.

UM, SINCE WE HAVE A LOT OF NEW MEMBERS THIS YEAR, I'LL JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT THE CORE GRANT IS THAT WE'RE PURSUING, UH, THROUGH TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE.

UH, IT'S A COMMUNITY OUTDOOR OUTREACH PROGRAM.

UH, IT'S A, IT PROVIDES, UH, FUNDING TO TEXAS AND FOR ORGANIZATIONS FOR PROGRAMMING THAT ENGAGES UNDERREPRESENTED POPULATIONS, UH, IN TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE, UH, MISSION ORIENTED, OUTDOOR RECREATION AND CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, UM, TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH NONTRADITIONAL CONSTITUENCIES WHO HAVE BEEN UNDERREPRESENTED AND, UH, PPWD ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS. UM, BASICALLY THE, THE WHOLE IDEA IS TO, UM, GET UNDERREPRESENTED POPULATIONS, MINORITIES, FEMALES, UM, MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY DISABLED, UM, AND, AND LOWER SOCIOECONOMIC, UM, FOLKS, THE OPPORTUNITY TO, UM, BE AWARE OF ENGAGE IN AND GET INVOLVED IN OUTDOOR, UH, RECREATIONAL LEISURE ACTIVITIES.

AND SO, UM, LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST YEAR, THE, SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE THAT WE HAD, UM, APPLIED FOR THIS GRANT, UH, ADDITIONALLY LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST YEAR THEY HAD CHANGED ALL OF THEIR, UM, KIND OF GRADING SYSTEM.

AND SO WE DID NOT, UH, WE WEREN'T AWARDED THE GRANT LAW LAST YEAR, BUT WE DID GET A LOT OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON OUR APPLICATION.

AND SO WE'VE BEEN USING THAT TO KIND OF BUILD AND, UM, REDEVELOP OUR GRANT APPLICATION FOR THIS YEAR.

AND SO I JUST WANTED TO BRING THIS FORTH, LET YOU GUYS KNOW THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE PURSUING AGAIN.

UH, WE GO BEFORE COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 19TH, UM, SEEKING AN AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION FOR THEM TO BASICALLY GIVE US PERMISSION TO, UM, GO AHEAD AND APPLY FOR THIS GRANT AND THAT, THAT THEY BACK US.

UM, FINANCIALLY IT IS A REIMBURSABLE GRANT.

SO IF WE ARE AWARDED THE CITY WOULD PUT UP A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY, UM, FOR SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS AND EQUIPMENT, AND THEN TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE WOULD REIMBURSE US, UH, FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT THAT WE APPLY FOR THAT WE, UM, ARE AWARDED THROUGH THE GRANT PROCESS.

SO I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE AT THIS TIME.

AND, UM, ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE ABOUT THE OTHER PROGRAMS. THIS IS MARY ROSS MONDAY.

DID YOU SAY THIS Y'ALL WILL GO ON TO CITY COUNCIL? THE COUNCIL MEETING THAT WE ARE ON THE AGENDA FOR IS OCTOBER 19TH AND THE GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER THE SIXTH.

SO WE DON'T GET IT ON THE 19TH.

WE'VE GOT TO GET IN, UH, FOUR DAYS AHEAD OF TIME.

AND I LIKE TO GIVE MYSELF A LITTLE BIT OF TIME TO WORK WITH, UH, SO HOPEFULLY WE'LL BE ABLE TO GET APPROVAL ON THE 19TH.

THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS, QUESTIONS WE'LL MOVE ON

[8. CONSIDER NOMINATIONS FOR CITY MUNICIPAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AND SELECT WINNER OF DEPARTMENTAL AWARD]

OVER TO ITEM NUMBER EIGHT.

UH, ITEM NUMBER EIGHT IS CONSIDERED NOMINATIONS FOR THE CITY MUNICIPAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM AND SELECT WINNER OF DEPARTMENTAL AWARD.

THIS ONE IS, WE TALKED ABOUT THIS LAST NIGHT, THIS THE MAGNUM.

THANK YOU.

UH, YEAH, SO THIS IS, UM, UM, THE, THE PARKS BOARD.

UH, LAST YEAR WE DEVELOPED OUR DEPARTMENTAL, UM, VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD.

IT WAS A LONG TIME COMING.

IT TOOK US A COUPLE OF, UH, ITERATIONS AND TRIES TO GET THIS, UH, WHERE WE WANTED IT.

UM, WE HAD THE PERMISSION FROM CITY COUNCIL TO NAME IT AFTER, UH, EBONY G.

AND SO, UM, THE, THE PARKS BOARD, UM, SELECTS A VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR, UM, FROM, FROM, UH, FROM YOUR GUYS'S NOMINATIONS, UH, THAT IS THE PARKS AND RECREATION, EBONY G PARKS AND RECREATION, UH, VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR.

AND THEN THAT BECOMES,

[00:35:01]

UH, THE NOMINATION FOR THE CITYWIDE, A VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR, WHICH IS A, UM, UH, AN AWARD THAT IS, UH, HANDLED THROUGH THE MVP PROGRAM, WHICH IS OUT OF THE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT.

UH, THEY, THEY DO A, A CITY VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR.

AND SO, UM, WHOEVER WE AWARD THE, THE EBONY G UH, AWARD TO BECOMES OUR NOMINEE FOR, FOR THE CITYWIDE AWARD.

SO, UM, I KNOW THAT, UM, SEVERAL OF YOU HAVE KIND OF BEEN WORKING ON THIS AND, UM, I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO THE BOARD TO COME UP WITH A, JUST NEED A, UM, A, A MO A MOTION, SOME DISCUSSION ABOUT ON WHO THE, WHO THE PARKS FOR HER FEELS HAS DONE A LOT FOR, UH, UM, FURTHERING, UH, PARKS, RECREATION, QUALITY OF LIFE, UH, IN, IN OUR CITY.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, JASON, UH, SYDNEY, HAD YOU RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION FROM ANY OF THE BOARD MEMBERS, UH, WITH REGARD TO NOMINATIONS BY ANY CHANCE? UH, YES.

UH, MS. GILTNER AND I ACTUALLY, UM, SUBMITTED THE NOMINATION IT'S IN THE PACKET AND IT HAS, UM, IT'S, UH, TOM AND REGGIE NICKELS, AND IT HAS THEIR BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND THE ACTIVITY.

AND, UM, I'M ALSO, I'M STILL WAITING ON COMMUNICATIONS TO GIVE ME AN UPDATE ON, CAN WE USE BOTH OF THEM FOR THE AWARD? UM, I'M PRETTY SURE WE CAN USE BOTH OF THEM ON THE AWARD FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION AWARD, BUT AS FOR THE CITY AWARD, I'M, I'M STILL TRYING TO GET CLARIFICATION.

CAN IT BE BOTH OF THEM? THEY COME AS A GROUP.

YEAH.

BUT A SECOND UP AND GET IT AGAIN.

YOU'RE LITERALLY JOINED AT THE HIP, HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER.

UM, AND I ALSO SENT PICTURES TO, UM, SYDNEY AND THEY ARE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS, THE THINGS THAT THEY'VE DONE FOR THE CITY, WITH THE MEMORIAL TREE PROGRAM AND THE, YOU KNOW, THE, SO MANY THINGS, UM, THE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE, UH, MAYOR YOUTH COMMISSION, $1,000 FOR EACH GRADUATING STUDENT, WHO'S GOING TO COLLEGE.

UM, IT'S JUST, IT'S ALL IN THAT PACK.

IT'S ALL IN THAT, UM, NOMINATION, THE LAW, THE THING IS THEY MAY LOOK MORE PHILANTHROPIC THAN THEY DO VOLUNTEER, BUT THEY'RE ALSO ON THE BOARD FOR MISSOURI CITY GREEN NOW, AND THEY HAVE VOLUNTEERED FOR PARKS CLEANUP, UH, BUT DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS TRASH OFF AND OUR ELECTRONICS RECYCLING AND, UM, JANUARY IT WOULD'VE DONE A LOT MORE IF I HAD, COVID NOT SHUT DOWN THINGS.

SO, YEAH.

AND TOM ALSO, TOM ALSO SERVES ON THE BOARD FOR THE PARKS FOUNDATION.

EXACTLY, EXACTLY.

SO IF WE WERE, IF WE WERE TO MOVE THIS FORWARD TO, UM, TO MVP TO THE CITY, WE WOULD PROBABLY TWEAK THAT LAST PARAGRAPH JUST A LITTLE BIT, BUT, UM, IF Y'ALL WOULD LOOK OVER THAT AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT.

SO WHAT I'D LIKE TO SAY IS I AM SO PROUD AND HONORED THAT YOU MADE THAT NOMINATION.

UH, I MEAN, THEY ARE JAZZ, UH, MAN, THEY'RE SALT OF THE EARTH FOLKS THAT, YOU KNOW, EVERY TIME I TALK ABOUT THEM, I GET GOOSEBUMPS, YOU KNOW, AND, UH, YOU KNOW, THAT THAT'S WONDERFUL WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE THAT.

AND, AND THEY'VE DONE JUST SO MUCH US OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF THEIR HEART AND, AND BESIDES THE PHILANTHROPIC PORTION OF IT, I MEAN, THEY GET THEIR HANDS DIRTY.

THEY'RE, THEY'RE, YOU KNOW, PICKING UP TREES AND, AND DIGGING DIRT OR MOVING ITEMS. UH, AND THEY MAKE IT'S PEOPLE LIKE, DAMN THAT MADE ME PROUD TO LIVE IN MISSOURI CITY.

AND SO, UH, UH, WITH THAT, I WANT TO HONOR THEM BY MAKING A MOTION THAT, UH, WE MAKE THEM OUR SELECTION, UH, FROM THE PARKS BOARD.

THAT WOULD BE MY MOTION.

DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS THAT CAN TOP THAT RIGHT THERE? ALL RIGHT.

WE HAVE A FIRST AND A SECOND.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER NOMINATIONS, IF NOT, I'LL CALL FOR THE VOTE, ALL THOSE IN FAVOR OF NOMINATING, UH, TOM AND MEDINA AS OUR, UH, EXCUSE ME, VOLUNTEER AWARD SELECTION.

SAY AYE.

ANYONE OPPOSED? ALRIGHT, PASS.

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU, DIANE, FOR DOING A WONDERFUL JOB, PUTTING THAT TOGETHER.

UH, ANYTHING

[00:40:01]

ELSE ON THAT ITEM? IF NOT, WE'LL MOVE ON OVER TO ITEM NUMBER NINE.

[9. STAFF REPORTS]

STAFF REPORTS, UH, PARKS PROJECT, MR. MAGNUM.

YEAH.

SO, UM, UH, FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TO WISH EVERYBODY A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

TODAY'S THE FIRST DAY OF THE FISCAL YEAR.

UH, SO, UM, WE WERE, WE WERE BUSY, UH, TRYING TO MAKE SURE WE GOT SOME PROJECTS FINISHED UP, UH, IN LAST FISCAL YEAR FOR OUR, UH, REPORTING PURPOSES AND BUSINESS PLANS, A COUPLE OF THINGS.

UH, THE FIRST COLONY, UH, TRAIL.

UM, WE RECENTLY PAVED THAT IT WAS A, UH, A DG TRAIL, UH, THAT, UM, WAS ALWAYS GIVEN US TROUBLES WITH, UH, ESPECIALLY AFTER BIG RAINSTORMS AND, UH, WE'D, WE'D HAVE, UH, DG WASHING OUT INTO THE STREETS.

UH, AND SO WE, UH, CONVERTED THAT FROM THE DECOMPOSED GRANITE TO, UH, TO CONCRETE TRAIL.

THAT WAS A, THAT WAS RECENTLY FINISHED OTHER, I THINK THERE'S SOME PICTURES IN YOUR PACKET OF, OF IT IN PROGRESS.

UM, THE, UM, WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO FINISH OUR, UH, PARK SIGNAGE, UH, PRODUCT PROJECT, UM, THE NEW SIGNAGE THAT WE, UM, IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, UH, MOSTLY PARK AS A NEW SIGN, UH, INDEPENDENCE PARK HAS A NEW SIGN AND ROWAN HAS A NEW SIGN, AND THIS IS OUR PROJECT TO REPLACE ALL OF THE GATEWAY SIGNAGE AT EACH OF OUR PARKS.

UM, IF YOU REMEMBER, OUR GOAL WAS TO START WITH THE PARKS ON ARTERIAL KIND OF MAJOR TRAFFIC TYPE ROADS, UH, OR OUR SIGNATURE PARKS.

UM, PREVIOUSLY WE HAD DONE A HUNTER'S GLEN PARK COMMUNITY PARK AND, UM, AMERICAN LEGION PARK.

AND SO NOW WE HAVE, UH, SIX, SIX OF THEM AND, UH, HOPEFULLY THIS COMING UP HERE, WE WILL BE ABLE TO DO A FEW MORE.

WE, WE BUDGETED TO DO THREE MORE IN THE BUDGET, HOWEVER, WE WEREN'T, WE DIDN'T GET THAT FUNDING, BUT WE, WE DO HAVE SOME PARKS ZONES THAT HAVE SOME MONEY, AND WE THINK WE'LL BE ABLE TO DO A COUPLE MORE, UM, IN SPECIFIC PARTS ZONES, UH, THIS COMING UP HERE, BUT, UM, WE'D GET A LOT OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON THESE NEW SIGNS.

UM, AND WE REALLY LIKED THE WAY THAT THEY, THEY LOOK, UM, AND AGAIN, FINISHED YESTERDAY.

SO IN THE LAST FISCAL YEAR, FANTASTIC, UM, A COUPLE OF UPCOMING PROJECTS, UH, THAT I JUST WANT TO MAKE, YOU KNOW, UM, UH, MAKE KNOWN IS A, WE ARE GOING TO BE REPLACING A COUPLE OF PLAYGROUNDS.

WE HAVE FOUR PLAYGROUNDS.

UM, AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, THAT WHEN I GOT HERE, UH, FOUR YEARS AGO, WE HAD MANY, MANY, MANY PLAYGROUNDS THAT WERE, UM, OVERDUE TO BE REPLACED.

UM, THE ONE, FOR EXAMPLE, AT ROME PARK WAS SO OVERDUE TO BE REPLACED THAT WE WERE ABOUT READY TO TAKE IT OUT WITHOUT ANY REPLACEMENT.

UM, WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY FUNDING.

WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE GRANT, AND THEN WE HAD THAT NEW DEVELOPMENT GOING FOR THE PARK ZONE.

WE ARE BUILD THAT BEAUTIFUL, BIG PLAYGROUND AT ROAN.

UM, RIGHT NOW WE'RE DOWN TO FOUR LEFT THAT ARE OVERDUE TO BE REPLACED.

AND, UH, THERE ARE ONLY FOUR YEARS OVERDUE, SO THAT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD.

UM, AND THOSE FOUR ARE, UM, RIDGEVIEW PARK, QUELL GREEN WEST HUNTER'S TRAIL AND COMMUNITY PARK.

NOW WE DID A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, WE DID A BUNCH OF ADDITIONS TO COMMUNITY PARK WITH THE HELP OF THE NIAGARA, UH, UH, NIAGARA CARES FOUNDATION.

UH, BUT THE MAIN PIECE THAT CENTERPIECE, UH, IS, IS DUE TO BE REPLACED.

UM, SO WE ARE GOING TO THIS, UH, UH, WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF, IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, REPLACING THE COMMUNITY PARK PLAYGROUND AND, UH, THE PLAYGROUND AT HUNTER'S TRAIL PARK.

SO THOSE ARE THE TWO THAT, UH, THAT WE'RE WE'RE WORKING ON RIGHT NOW.

UM, SO EVERYBODY LOVES A NEW PLAYGROUND.

WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT SOME OF THE NEW DESIGNS, UM, AND SOME OF THE NEW INNOVATIVE PLAY FEATURES FOR THE, FOR THE KIDS.

UH, SO THOSE ARE THE, THOSE ARE THE MAIN PARK PROJECTS THAT WE'VE BEEN ABLE THAT WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON.

AND, UM, THAT WE'VE, THAT WE'VE FINISHED UP.

UM, I HOPE EVERYONE'S HAD A CHANCE TO GO SEE AMERICAN LEGION PARK AND, UM, THE NEW PAVILION RESTROOMS LANDSCAPING THERE TIES BEAUTIFULLY INTO THAT MONUMENT THAT, UH, WE DID A YEAR AND A HALF AGO WITH THE AMERICAN LEGION.

AND, UH, WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT LOOKS.

UM, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET DONE THAT, THAT PARK, UM, WAS THE, THE PARKING LOT AND THE DRIVE AS WELL.

THOSE WERE, THOSE WERE GRAVEL.

AND NOW, UH, WE GOT, UH, A BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPED, CONCRETE PARKING LOT.

SO, UM, SO THAT'S ABOUT IT.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER

[00:45:06]

ANY QUESTIONS FOR JASON, RIGHT? IF NOT, WE'LL MOVE ON OVER.

SORRY, JASON JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, I WAS ACTUALLY TALKING TO SOME, SOME NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS OVER HERE AND, UH, LIKE TONY AND HERITAGE COUNTY RECENTLY.

AND, UH, THEY ALL GREATLY APPRECIATE THE WORK THAT WAS DONE AT, UH, THE FIRST COUNTY TRAIL.

UM, SO I WENT AND WENT BACK WHEN RANDY FIRST STARTED TALKING ABOUT, WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT GOING BACK IN THERE WITH DG AGAIN.

UM, BUT, UH, THE, THE PAVING MAKES IT SO MUCH NICER.

UM, MY DAUGHTER USED TO SAY IT WAS THIS ELDON IS WHAT SHE CALLED IT WHEN SHE WAS LITTLE, BECAUSE EVERY TIME SHE GOT HER BIKE BACK THERE SHE'D FALL OFF HER BIKE.

UH, BUT NOW SHE LOVES RIDING DOWN THERE TO, TO GO MEET FRIENDS.

SO, UH, I SAY THAT SHE'S NOT GOING TO MEET FRIENDS, BUT SHE'S LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING ABLE TO DO THAT ONE DAY.

SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT UPDATE.

ALRIGHT, OPERATIONS, MR. BARRY.

WELL, IT'S BEEN A PRETTY MUCH A STANDARD MONTH EXCEPT FOR REMOVING THE WINDSCREENS AND REINSTALLING THEM AT THE TENNIS CENTER TWICE AND TWO WEEKS DUE TO DROP A COUPLE STORM THREATS.

ALRIGHT.

ANY QUESTIONS FOR MR. HAMILTON, ANYBODY HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT GOOD RECREATIONS GAVIN? ALL RIGHT.

UM, THE REPORT IS IN THE, IS IN THE AGENDA PACKET FOR SEPTEMBER.

UM, YOU WILL SEE, WE HAVE HAD SOME BEEN ABLE TO EXPAND SOME OF OUR PROGRAMS A LITTLE BIT, AND I'M HAPPY TO NOW PROVIDE SOME UPDATES ON UPCOMING EVENTS, UH, THAT WE'RE JUST GOT APPROVAL TO MOVE FORWARD WITH TODAY.

UM, SO IN OCTOBER, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A FAMILY FIELD GAMES, UH, ACTIVITY RENTAL KITS AVAILABLE FROM THE REC CENTER, UH, FROM OCTOBER 8TH THROUGH THE 22ND, WE HAVE VIRTUAL SINGER, UH, SENIOR BINGO ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15TH.

UH, THAT'LL BE A MORNING FROM 10 TO 1130 ON ZOOM.

UM, WE HAVE OUR SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THE FRIDAY NIGHT FLICKS DRIVE UP MOVIE SERIES ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16TH.

THAT'LL BE SPIDERMAN INTO THE SPIDER VERSE OUT OF COMMUNITY PARK.

UH, WE JUST GOT APPROVED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH OUR TRICKS AND TREATS.

IT'S GOING TO BE A MODIFIED, THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME WE'VE DONE TRICKS AND TREATS IN THIS FORMAT DUE TO COVID.

IT'LL BE A DRIVE BOOM EVENT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, FROM FOUR TO 6:00 PM AT COMMUNITY PARK.

AND WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST.

THAT'S GOING TO BE DOING OCTOBER 28TH.

THE FIRST 50 REGISTRANT'S WILL GET A FREE PUMPKIN FROM HEB, AND THERE'LL BE LITTLE ELIGIBLE TO WIN SOME PRIZES WHEN THEY SEND THEIR, THEIR PICTURES IN.

SO, UH, IT'S BEEN SLOW GOING FOR US, BUT WE'RE EXCITED TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO RAMP UP AND BE ABLE TO START DOING SOME THINGS IN THE COMMUNITY AGAIN.

AND I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU GUYS HAVE.

CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE DRY BULLY MAN, PLEASE? UM, SO WE'RE GOING TO HAVE, YOU KNOW, TRICKS AND TREATS IN THE PARK.

IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THAT EVENT, IT'S USUALLY A WALKING EVENT.

WE SET IT UP AT A BUFFALO RUN PARK AND THERE'S A BUNCH OF VENDORS SET UP KIND OF ALONG A TRAIL WHERE THE KIDS CAN WALK AND THEY, THEY GO TO EACH BOOTH AND GET SOME CANDY AND PRIZES AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

AND THERE'S ACTIVITIES AND WHATNOT.

UM, THIS YEAR WITH, WITH SOCIAL DANCING, WITH COVID, UM, WE HAD TO MODIFY IT.

SO IT'S GOING TO BE, YOU KNOW, THE PARTICIPANTS ARE GOING TO BE IN THEIR CAR AND THEY'RE GOING TO DRIVE UP TO THE VARIOUS, UM, VENDOR BREWS, WHICH WILL BE SPACED OUT AND, UM, BE ABLE TO GET SOME TREATS AND SOME, UH, PRIZES FROM OUR PARTICIPATING VENDORS.

SO IT'S GOING TO BE DEFINITELY A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT, UM, NOT THE SAME, OBVIOUSLY NOT THE SAME KIND OF SENSE OF COMMUNITY THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET, BUT WE DO WANT TO TRY TO PROVIDE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE THE, UH, THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN AND THE SPIRIT OF GIVING, YOU KNOW, AND, AND GET SOME PEOPLE AND BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE AGAIN.

SO, UH, WE'LL SEE HOW IT GOES.

WE'RE, WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED AND JUST TO BE ABLE TO OFFER IT.

UM, SO, UH, WE'RE NOT REALLY SURE EXACTLY HOW IT'S GONNA LOOK JUST YET, BUT, UH, IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING.

SO YEAH, THERE'S COMMUNITY, KEVIN, I'LL CALL YOU VENDORS FOR THE DRIVER DRIVER.

NOW, I THINK WE ONLY HAVE TWO SO FAR.

WE'VE, WE'VE BEEN KIND OF, UH, IN A HOLDING PATTERN WAITING TO GET APPROVAL.

UM, NOW WE'VE BEEN APPROVED, UH, WE'RE GOING TO BE PUSHING HARD AND, AND FOLLOWING UP WITH SOME OF OUR NORMAL VENDORS THAT WE'VE HAD OUT IN THE PAST FOR THOSE EVENTS.

UM, SPECIFICALLY, I DON'T KNOW, SPECIFICALLY, WHO'S, WHO'S ALREADY SIGNED UP, WE'RE GOING TO SIGN UP, WE'RE GOING TO BE REACHING OUT TO ALL OF OUR FORMER VENDORS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SITE PREVIOUSLY.

HEY, KEVIN, THIS IS DANIELLE.

I JUST WANT TO DO, UM, ADD IN THERE THAT

[00:50:01]

AS SOON AS I GOT JASON'S NOTIFICATION TODAY, WE HAVE REACHED OUT TO OUR ENTIRE LIST OF VENDOR INTEREST FORMS. UM, SO I WANTED TO SHARE AS WELL, IF YOU PARKED SPORT, IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE, WHO'D BE INTERESTED, PLEASE HAVE THEM REACH OUT TO ME.

UM, I'D BE HAPPY TO CONNECT THEM AND, UM, TRY AND GET THEM OUT THERE AT THE EVENT.

UM, CAUSE LUCKILY THIS YEAR WE DON'T REALLY HAVE A, A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF, SO WE'RE ACTUALLY PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT LOOKING FOR FORWARD TO NEW PARTNERSHIPS IN THOSE COMMUNITY BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS, DANIELLE.

YES, WE'RE DOING THE SAME THING.

UH, SIANNA REACHED OUT TO THE FARMER'S MARKET AND THEY'RE THAT DRIVE BULL IS I THINK OCTOBER THE 16TH.

OKAY.

AND SO I'D LIKE TO, UH, BE A VENDOR ALSO LASER SEATED FIRST.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU, I WILL, UM, SEND YOU THE, ALL THE INFORMATION TOMORROW WHEN I GET INTO THE OFFICE, THAT'D BE GREAT.

AND WE'RE GOING TO GIVE HEALTHY TREATS.

OH, PERFECT.

EVEN BETTER.

DO Y'ALL HAVE A DATE PICKED ALREADY KEVIN? YEAH, IT'S A, IT'S A SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH.

IT'LL BE AT COMMUNITY PARK INSTEAD OF BUFFALO RUN.

UM, AND IT'LL BE FROM FOUR TO 6:00 PM.

OKAY, GOOD.

I THINK COMMUNICATION'S GOING TO DO AN EXCELLENT JOB OF GETTING THAT WORD OUT TO EVERYBODY.

YEAH, WE SHOULD.

ALL THE, ALL THE INFORMATION THAT I JUST TALKED ABOUT IS GOING TO BE SENT OUT IN THE MONTHLY PARTS OF OUR NEWSLETTER.

THAT'S GOING OUT TOMORROW.

UM, SO THERE'LL BE A LOT OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE SPECIFIC DETAILS FOR ALL THOSE EVENTS.

UM, THAT'LL BE ON THAT NEWSLETTER AND WILL THEY ALSO, I GUESS LIKE PUT IT ON THEIR WEB PAGE AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

NOT ONLY REASON I'M ASKING THIS, UM, I REALLY FEEL THAT, YOU KNOW, I WANT TO TRY TO HELP GET OUR COMMUNITY BACK TO FILLING SOME NORMALCY BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, I HAD AN EXPERIENCE WHERE I WAS LIKE, MAN, HOLD ON, WAIT, YOU KNOW, EVERYBODY'S BEGINNING TO KIND OF OPEN UP AND I WANNA MAKE SURE WE'RE OPENING UP AND WE'RE GETTING THAT INFORMATION OUT.

SO RESIDENTS CAN FEEL LIKE, YOU KNOW, AGAIN, PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCE AND, YOU KNOW, TRYING TO MAKE SURE WE STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY, BUT YOU KNOW, AT THE SAME TIME, THEY'RE THERE, THEY'RE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE HAVE CABIN FEVER, YOU KNOW, AND I THINK IF YOU DO SOMETHING THAT'S CONTROLLED, UH, THAT HELPS AND, AND JUST MENTALLY IT'S GOING TO HELP.

SO I WANT TO MAKE SURE WE'RE JUST GETTING IT OUT SO PEOPLE KNOW THAT IT'S OUT THERE AND THIS IS HAPPENING.

YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.

WE'LL PUT IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

WE'LL PUT ON THE WEBSITE AND WE'LL DEFINITELY BE PUSHING IT.

AND THEN HOPEFULLY A LOT OF PEOPLE BE SPREADING IT THROUGH WORD OF MOUTH AS WELL, PARTICIPATE.

SO I'LL GET WITH THEM TOMORROW.

THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR KEVIN QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? ALRIGHT, IF NOT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

APPRECIATE IT.

UH, I REMEMBER 10, WE'LL GO TO ITEM NUMBER

[10. DIRECTORS REPORT]

10 DIRECTOR'S REPORT.

MY REPORT WILL BE PRETTY SHORT THIS MONTH.

UM, WE CONTINUE TO WORK ON OUR CAPRA ACCREDITATION PROCESS.

WE KIND OF FEEL LIKE WE'RE IN THE HOME STRETCH AS FAR AS, UM, AS FAR AS WE'RE, WE'RE GETTING DOWN THE WIRE, WE STILL HAVE A LOT TO DO.

UM, WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT, UM, MOVING FORWARD WITH THIS.

UM, OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE A VISITORS HERE, UH, IN THE SPRING SLASH EARLY SUMMER.

UM, AS LONG AS, AS LONG AS THE PANDEMIC ALLOWS US TO DO THAT, UM, OTHERWISE WE WOULD DO A VIRTUAL VISIT, UM, WE'VE, UH, ENLISTED THE, UH, THE TALENTS OF SYDNEY TO, TO COORDINATE ALL OF OUR DOCUMENTS, UH, THROUGH, UH, A NEW, A NEW SOFTWARE PROGRAM THAT WE'VE NEVER USED BEFORE.

AND SHE'S DOING A GREAT JOB WITH THAT.

AND THEN ALISON IS A RE TAKING CHARGE OF WRITING OUR SELF-ASSESSMENT.

UH, OUR SELF ASSESSMENT IS WHERE WE TAKE EACH INDIVIDUAL STANDARD AND WE EXPLAIN HOW WE MEET THAT, UH, STANDARD, A HUGE DOCUMENT.

UM, AND SO, SO, UH, WE ARE, WE ARE MOVING FORWARD AND, AND, UH, UM, THERE WILL STILL BE I'M SURE SOME POLICIES, PROCEDURES, PLANS, OR WHATNOT THAT COMES TO YOU GUYS.

UM, NAMELY, UH, OUR, OUR PARKS AND RECREATION, UM, UH, MASTER PLAN UPDATE.

WE WE'VE, UH, NOW THAT WE'RE IN THE NEW BUDGET YEAR, WE CAN START WORKING ON THAT UPDATE.

UM, UH, AND, AND SO, UH, OH, AND THEN OUR ADA ASSESSMENT AS WELL, WHICH WAS RECENTLY COMPLETED, I JUST GOT THE DRAFT REPORTS, UH, THIS WEEK.

SO WE WILL BRING THOSE TO YOU ALL NEXT MONTH ON OUR, UM, ADA ASSESSMENT AND TRANSITION PLAN.

UM, I, THE ONLY OTHER THING THAT I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT WAS, UM,

[00:55:01]

AN HONESTY.

UM, I WASN'T PLANNING ON, ON, ON SAYING THIS, BUT, UM, I GOT THIS EMAIL, UH, AN HOUR AGO AND, UH, SO, SO STAFF HASN'T HEARD THIS EMAIL, UM, BUT I WANTED TO READ IT TO, UH, THE BOARD, UM, AND TO STAFF, UH, BECAUSE IN, IN PARKS AND RECREATION, MISSOURI CITY, WE HAVE WHAT WE CALL OUR COMMON PURPOSE.

AND, UM, THIS IS WHAT WE FEEL, EVERYTHING WE DO SHOULD, SHOULD CENTER AROUND.

AND OUR COMMON PURPOSE IS THAT PARKS AND RECREATION MAKE LIFE BETTER IN MISSOURI CITY.

UM, AND WE FEEL LIKE IF WE ARE DOING SOMETHING AND IT'S MAKING LIFE BETTER THAN WE'RE, UM, WE ARE OPERATING WITHIN THE PURPOSE OF, OF WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.

UM, THIS, UH, EMAIL WAS A COME FROM ONE OF OUR, UH, PICKLE BALLERS, UH, UH, PARTICIPANTS.

AND IT JUST SAYS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE FOR US DURING THIS TERRIBLE PANDEMIC AFFECTING US LOCALLY, AS WELL AS GLOBALLY, ALLOWING US TO BE OUTSIDE THIS SUMMER, PLAYING PICKLE BALL, EXERCISING, OUR BODIES BRAINS AND SOULS WAS SUCH A POWERFUL DEAL FOR US.

NOW WITH INDOOR, WE HAVE OPTIONS WITH BAD WEATHER, AND I SIMPLY WANT TO SAY, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, WE HAD CAPITAL SO MUCH NEEDED LAUGHTER AND SUMMER ALL PLAYING PICKLEBALL.

THE STAFF WAS ALWAYS SO UNDERSTANDING AND HELPFUL, AND WE ALL APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU SENDING A BIG VIRTUAL HUG TO ALL.

AND, UM, YOU KNOW, WE, WE DON'T OFTEN HEAR, UM, OR GET EMAILS LIKE THIS.

UM, BUT WE, WE DO WHAT WE DO BECAUSE WE, WE HOPE THAT, UM, THE WORK AND THE EFFORT THAT WE DO, UH, MEANS SOMETHING, UH, TO PEOPLE.

WE HOPE THAT THE, THE, THE, THE BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS THAT WE PUT INTO THESE EVENTS, INTO THESE PROGRAMS, TO THESE FACILITIES, TO THESE PARKS, UH, WE HOPE THAT IT MEANS SOMETHING THAT IT, THAT IT MAKES SOMEONE'S LIFE BETTER.

AND, UM, YOU KNOW, YEAH, WE, WE GET PAID TO DO WHAT WE DO, BUT, BUT, UH, RECEIVING, UH, EMAILS LIKE THIS IS, IS THE, IS THE TRUE PAYDAY AND HELPS JUST KIND OF KEEP THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE THAT, UM, YOU KNOW, WE'RE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER THAN OURSELVES.

AND, AND WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR THAT.

SO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO BE PART OF THAT AND, UH, TO HELP US, UH, CARRY OUT THE MISSION OF PARKS AND RECREATION, MR. CITY.

GOOD JOB, MAN.

GOOD JOB.

ANY QUESTIONS FOR JASON ON HIS REPORT? I'D LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING TO THAT CHAIRMAN.

YES, SIR.

I'D LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING TO JASON'S LAST COMMENT.

UM, MY WIFE AND I, UH, GO OUT TO RIDGEVIEW EVERY MORNING AND WE WATCH SOME OF THE PEOPLE, AND SOMETIMES WE'RE THE ONLY ONES, BUT OTHER TIMES FOR, UH, ONE OF, UH, FIVE OR SIX THAT SATURDAY, THERE WERE AT LEAST 50 PEOPLE IN THE FAR, UM, ALL AGES FROM MAYBE SIX UP TO ME AND ALL ENJOYING WHAT THEY WERE DOING.

AND THEN IN THE AFTERNOONS WERE GOING OFF TO THE REC CENTER.

AND EVERY TIME WE WALK INTO THE OFFICE OF THE DESK AT THE REC CENTER, WE'RE MET BY A FRIENDLY READING.

AND THAT IS SO IMPORTANT.

I THINK THAT SENDS A MESSAGE TO THE COMMUNITY.

UH, WE MAYBE DEMARCUS OR MOHAMED OR ADAM, OR WHOEVER MIGHT BE OUT THERE THAT IT'S A, A WELCOMING ATTITUDE.

THAT'S COMING TO US WHEN WE GO IN THERE AND WE HAVE AN IDEA OF TIME THAT WE CAN GET IN THERE AND SOCIALIZE.

THERE'S ANOTHER FAMILY THAT GOES IN THERE SOMETIMES WHERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT ARE IN THE WEIGHT ROOM AT THE SAME TIME, PROBABLY NOT COST EFFECTIVE, BUT FOR US, REALLY SOMETHING IMPORTANT.

I'M LOOK FORWARD TO DOING IT.

SO THANK YOU FOR WHAT ALL OF YOU ARE DOING.

GREAT.

THANK YOU, SIR.

ANY OTHER COMMENTS? ALL RIGHT.

WELL, AND I WANT TO KIND OF JUST, JUST ADD A COMMENT TO THE END OF WHAT DON JUST SAID.

[01:00:01]

ANYTIME ANY OF US SEE ANY MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE OUT THERE, STOP AND TAKE A MOMENT.

JUST TELL HIM THANK YOU.

BECAUSE YOU KNOW, I SEE THEM A LOT OF TIMES OUT THERE ON SATURDAYS, OR, YOU KNOW, AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER IT'S IN PUBLIC WORDS, ESPECIALLY PARTS, UH, OR ANY OF THE OTHER DEPARTMENTS, BUT SEE WHEN THE WEATHER'S BAD, THEY GOTTA GO OUT THERE.

WHEN WE GET TO STAY IN THE HOME.

YOU KNOW, WHEN I SAY, I ALWAYS SAY THE FIREFIGHTERS OR THE POLICE AND THE FIREFIGHTERS, WHEN THE FIRE'S GOING, I'M RUNNING AWAY, HE'S RUNNING TOO.

AND SO, YOU KNOW, IT MEANS A LOT WHEN YOU CAN JUST SAY, THANK YOU.

THAT REALLY DOES, UH, GO BEYOND, NAH, DON'T GET IT TWISTED.

MONEY'S IMPORTANT.

BUT YOU KNOW, THAT, THAT SELF GRATIFICATION, THAT KNOWING THAT YOU'RE HELPING OTHERS AND THAT YOU APPRECIATE IT GOES EVEN FURTHER AS WELL.

SO I ALWAYS JUST TAKE A MOMENT AND JUST TELL THEM, THANK YOU, ANYTIME YOU SEE HIM, ANY MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE COULD TELL HIM THINKING, I PROMISE YOU YOU'LL, YOU'LL, YOU'LL DO MORE FOR THEM THAN YOU CAN EVEN IMAGINE.

UH, WITH THAT BEING SAID, WE'LL MOVE

[11. BOARD REPORTS]

ON OVER TO, UH, BOARD REPORTS, ITEM NUMBER 11.

DO WE HAVE ANY REPORT FROM BOARD MEMBERS? ALRIGHT, LAWRENCE, A COUPLE OF THINGS.

UH, I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY THAT COMES OUT TO THE FARMER'S MARKET.

I APPRECIATE ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS THAT COME OUT.

I REALLY DO DIANE VICTORIA, EVERYBODY, BUDDY, REBECCA, AND LEARNS EVERY BAD, BUT WE DID A BLOOD DRIVE, UH, AT THE FARMER'S MARKET AND IT WENT SO WELL.

WE RAISED, WE GOT ENOUGH BLOOD TO SAVE 65 LIVES.

SO THEY'RE DOING ANOTHER BLOOD DRIVE ON NOVEMBER THE 12TH.

I THINK, WHATEVER SATURDAY THAT IS.

AND, UH, WE HAVE ONE OF THE OPTICIANS, UH, DIANE, YOU KNOW, FATE, WE'RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING CALLED THANKS FOR GIVING REEF.

AND SHE'S, WE'VE COMMISSIONED HER TO DO A REEF AND WE'RE DOING A RAFFLE ON IT.

AND WE'RE GIVING THE MONEY TO THE MISSOURI CITY, UH, VETERANS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.

I HADN'T HAD A CHANCE TO FIND OUT HOW WE DO LEGALLY JASON, BUT WE WANT TO DONATE ALL THE MONEY TO THEM.

AND ONE OTHER THING, UH, MY HUSBAND AND I SERVE ON THE ALZHEIMER'S BOARD AND I HAVE A TEAM THAT'S A VIRTUAL WEALTH.

NOW EVERYBODY JUST WALK.

SO IF Y'ALL WANT TO SIGN UP TO JUST HELP, BECAUSE ALL THIS HAS TO DO WITH HEALTH AND IN, AND, AND MAKING PEOPLE FEEL BETTER.

SO THE IT'S ON FARMER'S MARKET PARTNERS ON ALZHEIMER'S FORD BENWALK.

SO I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT AND THAT'S IT.

BUT WE WANT TO GIVE ALL THE MONEY THAT WE RAISED FOR THE REEF TO, UM, THE VETERANS.

THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER UPDATES? HUH? I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUICK QUESTIONS.

SEND ME, MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME.

HOW'S THE SINGLE WALL GOING ALONG? UM, ACTUALLY OUR FIN VICKERY.

UM, SHE IS IN CHARGE OF THE SENIOR WALKING CLUB, BUT, UM, I MEAN, EVERY MORNING WHEN I FIGURED COME BACK, YOU KNOW, SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE HAD A GOOD MARK AND SHE SAYS THAT THE CLUB IS, YOU KNOW, DOING REALLY WELL AND SENIORS ARE ENJOYING IT.

YEAH.

I'LL JUMP IN LAWRENCE.

UH, YEAH, IT HAS GROWN.

UM, THEY'VE HAD 19 PLUS, UH, DIFFERENT PEOPLE SHOW UP TO THAT.

I DON'T THINK THEY GET 19 AT EVERY TIME, BUT I'M 19, AT LEAST 19 TO 20 DIFFERENT INDIVIDUALS HAVE SHOWN UP.

UM, SO THEY'RE HAVING A CONSISTENT GROUP OUT THERE, UM, AND, AND DIFFERENT PEOPLE ARE COMING AND GOING.

UM, BUT YEAH, IT'S, IT'S STILL GOING PRETTY WELL.

AND I THINK THAT PEOPLE ARE ENJOYING IT.

I KNOW ALLISON'S ENJOYING IT.

SO, AND I BELIEVE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE PARTICIPATING ARE ENJOYING THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET OUT THERE AND SOCIALIZE, UH, SAFELY AND ALSO BE ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, GET THEIR STEPS IN.

SO GOOD.

HOPEFULLY THE WEATHER NOW, SOMETHING THAT AS WELL, IT'S NICE FOR THIS WEEK.

UH, THE OTHER THING, THE OTHER QUESTION I HAVE, UH, I'M PRETTY SURE WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH, UH, IN NOVEMBER, DEFINITELY DECEMBER, I THINK WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A PARKLAND DEDICATION AND, UH, I WANTED TO ASK, UM, I THINK EVERYBODY ON HERE HAS DONE, HAS
